Magdalena Ślifirczyk
Patent Attorney and professional attorney before EUIPO
Since 2005, she has acted as a patent attorney and professional attorney before EUIPO. For her result in the final patent attorney exam she received the recognition award from the President of the Polish Patent Office. She graduated with honours from the Faculty of Law at Warsaw University, and then obtained a diploma from post-graduate studies in Industrial Property Law at the Jagiellonian University. She has over than 20 years of a professional experience in the area of intellectual and industrial property rights. In the past, she has co-operated with the Polish office of one of the largest international law firms and with a large Polish patent firm. She provides comprehensive patent attorney services to corporate and individual Clients, both as part of registration filings and litigious proceedings. She advises her Clients on how to protect their intangible assets and helps them to obtain exclusive rights to trade marks, industrial designs and inventions. She also specialises in conducting disputes involving industrial property rights.
She has authored and co-authored many publications addressed to entrepreneurs concerning intellectual property issues in business activity.
Maciej Ślifirczyk
Legal Advisor
With a Ph.D. in Law, he is currently Assistant Professor in the Financial Law Department, at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Warsaw University, and has long been a university lecturer. He achieved excellent results in his final exams to become a judge and a legal advisor. Since 2003, he has acted as legal advisor. For many years he has been providing legal assistance, as part of which he has conducted disputes before common courts as well as before the tax authorities and administrative courts. He is also experienced in ongoing legal assistance and legal co-ordination of large projects, including those involving copyrights as well as art and culture. He used to be on the supervisory board of a major energy company in Poland. His advice, as an expert at the Bureau of Research of the Chancellery of the Sejm (Biuro Analiz Sejmowych), was sought on many occasions during the legislation process. He was also a member of the Tax Law Consultative Committee (Rada Konsultacyjna Prawa Podatkowego) at the Ministry of Finance and of a number of international associations grouping experts and practitioners of tax law.
He is the author and co-author of around one hundred books on tax-related topics and articles on tax and civil law published in specialist periodicals.
